I just want to go for a normal run. What do I tap?Tap GO or a quick-start tile, choose Run, and start. Challenges, teams, and territory are optional.
Corruns can be a simple run recorder. You do not need to join anything or understand the game before you move.
Do this
- Open Home.
- Tap the Run tile, or tap GO and choose Run.
- Check that GPS is ready, then start.
- When you are done, finish and wait for Run saved.
Can I walk or ride instead of run?Yes. Pick Walk or Ride before you start so Corruns checks and labels the activity correctly.
A walk or ride can be saved like a run. Whether it scores in a particular challenge depends on that challenge's rules, which are shown before you join.
Do this
- Open Home or GO.
- Choose Walk or Ride.
- Read the destination or challenge summary before starting.
- Record and finish normally.
I want to save my exercise but not compete. Can I?Yes. Choose My history only when Corruns asks where the activity should count.
This keeps the activity in your personal history without choosing a challenge. It is the simplest choice when you only want a record of what you did.
Do this
- Start a free activity or training session.
- When asked where it counts, choose My history only.
- Finish the activity as usual.
- Confirm that the saved message appears.
What should I check before my first activity?Choose the right activity, allow location access, wait for GPS, and use a safe route.
The phone needs a clear enough GPS signal to measure where you went. Traffic, weather, terrain, and local rules always matter more than points or territory.
Do this
- Choose Run, Walk, or Ride.
- Allow location access while using Corruns.
- Wait until the recorder says GPS is ready.
- Keep the app open while recording.
- Stop if continuing would be unsafe.
What is the difference between pause, resume, and finish?Pause stops counting for a moment, Resume continues the same activity, and Finish saves and ends it.
Use Pause for a short interruption. Use Finish only when the whole activity is over. Read the visible state before tapping while you are moving.
Do this
- Tap Pause when you need to stop briefly.
- Tap Resume when you are moving again.
- Tap Finish when the activity is completely over.
- Confirm the save message before closing Corruns.
How do I know my activity is safely saved?Wait for Run saved or Saved - will sync. Both mean the run is stored on your phone.
Corruns saves a completed activity on the device before trying the internet. A failed upload should not erase the run; it moves to the waiting-to-sync list instead.
Do this
- Finish the activity.
- Wait for the saved confirmation.
- If it says it will sync, leave the item on the phone.
- Open Settings > Waiting to sync whenever you want to check it.
Can I record with no signal or internet?Yes. Keep Corruns open while recording; the finished activity is saved on the phone and uploads later.
GPS and the internet are different. Your phone can often record GPS in a dead zone even when it cannot upload. Maps or online details may be limited until a connection returns.
Do this
- Start while Corruns is open.
- Record normally.
- Finish and wait for the saved message.
- Reconnect later and use Sync now if needed.
Can I lock my phone or close Corruns during a run?Keep Corruns open in the foreground for dependable recording.
Corruns keeps the screen awake during recording because background location is not dependable in every build and permission setup. You can lower screen brightness if that is safe and comfortable.
Do this
- Start the activity with Corruns open.
- Leave the recorder on screen.
- Do not force-close the app.
- Finish inside Corruns.
GPS is not ready or my distance looks wrong. What should I do?Move outdoors, allow location access, wait for a steady signal, and keep Corruns open.
Tall buildings, heavy tree cover, tunnels, battery restrictions, and starting indoors can make phone GPS jump or arrive late.
Do this
- Go to an open outdoor area.
- Check that Corruns has location permission.
- Turn off battery restrictions for Corruns if your phone applies them.
- Wait before starting.
- If the problem continues, restart the app and contact support with the phone model and time.
The app closed during my activity. Can I get it back?Open Home and look for the interrupted-recording card before starting another activity.
Corruns can surface an unfinished local recording so you can recover it or discard it. Discard only when you are sure you do not need those unsaved GPS points.
Do this
- Reopen Corruns.
- On Home, find the interrupted-recording message.
- Choose Recover to continue the saved path.
- Choose Discard only if you accept that it cannot be recovered afterward.
My activity says Waiting to sync. Is it lost? No. It is saved on this phone and waiting for a working connection.
Corruns retries when the app opens and when the network becomes reachable. You can also ask it to try now. Do not delete the local item while you still want the run.
Do this
- Connect to a stable network.
- Open Settings > Waiting to sync.
- Tap Sync now.
- If it still fails, keep it saved and contact support with the date and time.
What happens if I delete a run that has not synced? That local copy is the only safe copy, so deleting it can make the run unrecoverable.
A waiting-to-sync run has not reached the server yet. Keep it unless you intentionally want to throw it away, and read the confirmation carefully.
Do this
- Try Sync now first.
- Keep the item if you still want the activity.
- Delete only after the warning makes sense to you.
Can other people see the exact route I ran?Public maps show claimed area, not your exact recorded route.
Your GPS route is used to measure the activity and, when relevant, calculate a claimed shape. Sharing a post or claim does not publish the line you traveled. Still avoid putting sensitive details in photos or captions.
Do this
- Review the audience before sharing a post.
- Remember that the claim shape can still suggest a general place.
- Do not upload photos that reveal a home, school, or other sensitive location.
What is Live presence, and is it on by default? It is off by default. If you turn it on, selected people see one approximate dot only while you record.
The dot is coarse, not your route. The first two minutes are hidden, and the dot disappears when recording stops. You choose Friends or Challenge as the audience and choose how approximate the dot is.
Do this
- Open Settings > Live presence.
- Read the audience and approximate-area choices.
- Enable it only if you want it.
- Check the current setting before a run when location privacy matters.
Do I have to post or share after every activity? No. Saving and sharing are separate. Your run can be saved without becoming a post.
First make sure the activity is saved. Then share only if you want to, and read the audience before you confirm.
Do this
- Finish and wait for the saved message.
- Choose Not now or leave the share step if you do not want a post.
- If sharing, review the audience, photo, and caption first.
What should I avoid putting in an activity photo?Do not show private addresses, children, documents, keys, or anything that reveals a sensitive location.
Photos can travel beyond the audience you expected if someone obtains or copies a direct link. Treat every uploaded photo as something another person might save.
Do this
- Check the background before uploading.
- Crop out addresses, screens, and personal documents.
- Ask other people before posting their image.
- Remove the photo if you are unsure.
Do I need to join a challenge to use Corruns? No. Challenges are optional; you can record and keep activities in your own history.
A challenge gives the activity a shared goal or scoreboard. It is an extra layer, not the price of recording.
Do this
- Use a quick-start tile for a normal activity.
- Choose My history only when asked where it counts.
- Explore Challenges later if you want competition.
How do I join a challenge?Open an invite or enter the challenge code, read the rules and privacy, then choose Join.
A challenge can have its own activity types, dates, scoring, visibility, teams, and prizes. Do not join from the title alone; read the short rule summary first.
Do this
- Open the invite link or code.
- Check what activities count and when.
- Check who can see the challenge and whether a prize has official rules.
- Tap Join if those terms work for you.
How do I know what counts in a challenge?Open Challenge info and read What to do, How to win, dates, and allowed activity types.
Different challenges can reward distance, closed-loop territory, a campaign goal, or another stated result. The name and map are not enough to tell you the scoring rule.
Do this
- Open the challenge.
- Open its info or official rules.
- Read allowed activities, dates, scoring, and tie-breaks.
- If something is unclear, ask the organizer before recording for it.
What does 'where this activity counts' mean?It chooses whether the activity stays in your history or also tries to score for one eligible challenge.
The exercise itself can still be saved either way. Choosing a challenge asks Corruns to apply that challenge's rules after the activity.
Do this
- Choose My history only for no competition.
- Or choose one eligible challenge.
- Read the destination shown before starting.
- After finishing, check the result or review state.
What is the difference between a distance challenge and a territory challenge?Distance adds how far you moved. Territory usually needs a closed GPS loop and measures the ground inside it.
A straight out-and-back can add distance but may claim no area. A territory activity must follow the challenge's loop and validation rules.
Do this
- Read the challenge type.
- For distance, focus on the allowed activity and total distance.
- For territory, plan a safe loop that finishes near its start.
- Never enter unsafe or restricted ground to close a shape.
Why did my activity save but claim no territory? The activity can save even when the route does not form a valid closed loop.
To claim area, the end must come back close enough to the start and the route must pass the challenge's GPS and activity checks. An open route still remains a recorded activity.
Do this
- Open the activity result.
- Check whether the route closed near the start.
- Check whether the activity is still processing or in review.
- For next time, plan a safe loop and wait for GPS before starting.
Someone took my territory. Did I lose my old run?No. Your activity stays in history; only control of the overlapping game area changed.
Territory is designed to change hands. Depending on the challenge, you can plan another safe loop to take it back.
Do this
- Open the notification or territory view.
- Check which area changed hands.
- Read the challenge rules.
- Only run it back when the route is safe and permitted.
Why is my activity processing, in review, or rejected?Corruns checks GPS and movement before final scoring; an uncertain result may need organizer review.
Checks look for things such as impossible jumps, GPS gaps, or speed that does not fit the selected activity. A saved run and an approved challenge score are two different states.
Do this
- Keep the activity; do not record a duplicate immediately.
- Read the reason shown on the result.
- Wait if it is still processing.
- If review seems wrong, contact the organizer or support with the date, time, and activity title.
I just want a plan that tells me what to do. Where do I start?Open Train, choose a plan, read week one, and use Next run when you are ready.
A programme breaks a goal into sessions. The session title is the instruction, and the recorder guides you through warm-up, effort blocks, and cool-down when the plan includes them.
Do this
- Open Train.
- Choose a programme that matches your current level and goal.
- Read the first week's sessions and safety notes.
- Enroll, then tap Next run.
Can a training session also count for a challenge?Yes, when the session and activity are eligible. Choose the challenge when Corruns asks where the session counts.
The programme decides the workout; the challenge decides scoring. Saving to history only still completes the workout without competitive scoring.
Do this
- Open the next programme session.
- At the destination step, choose My history only or an eligible challenge.
- Confirm the destination before starting.
- Finish the session and check both programme progress and challenge result.
How do I hear instructions during a training session?Turn on the needed audio cues, raise media volume, and use headphones when it is safe.
Audio can announce parts of the workout, distance, pace, a pacer, or story characters. The exact choices depend on the session and your Audio cues settings.
Do this
- Open Settings > Audio cues.
- Choose the cues and voice you want.
- Check media volume and silent-mode behavior before leaving.
- Try a short preview or first session in a safe place.
Why can I not hear the coach, pacer, or story?Check Audio cues, media volume, the phone's sound settings, and whether the correct run mode is selected.
Coach, pacer, and story actors are different audio modes. A story cast can replace ordinary coaching on purpose, so hearing one instead of another may be the session design.
Do this
- Open Settings > Audio cues and confirm the desired options.
- Raise media volume and check connected headphones.
- Check whether the run uses Coach, Pacer, Actors, or None.
- Restart the session setup if audio still does not initialize, then contact support.
What is the difference between a pacer and a zombie chase?A pacer gives you a target to follow; a zombie is a game character that tries to catch you.
Both can react to the gap between you and a moving target, but their purpose and audio are different. Start with a plain pacer if you want calm pace help.
Do this
- Open run options before starting.
- Choose Pacer for a target pace.
- Choose a zombie or chase session only if you want the game pressure.
- Set a safe, realistic effort for your ability.
What is a story run?It is a training session with an audio episode that unfolds while you move.
Characters and scenes play at planned moments in the workout. The story is entertainment layered onto the session; you still choose a safe route and control your effort.
Do this
- Open Train and find a story or season.
- Read the episode length and activity plan.
- Use headphones only when you can still hear your surroundings.
- Start the episode and follow the visible workout cues.
What does Pro lock, and is the game pay-to-win?Pro can lock programme content after the free first week. Gameplay, challenges, zones, and leaderboards stay free.
The server decides entitlement. A Pro programme lets you read and run week one before later content requires access. Sponsored programmes may be free only during their event dates.
Do this
- Open the programme and read its tier and dates.
- Try the available first week when offered.
- Review store terms before buying.
- Do not buy Pro just to access challenge scoring; gameplay is not gated.
What is the difference between following someone and being friends?Following is one-way. Friends means you follow each other.
A person can follow you without you following them back. Privacy and challenge access can still have separate rules, so friendship does not make every activity public.
Do this
- Open the person's profile.
- Read the relationship state.
- Use Follow or Unfollow intentionally.
- Review sharing and Live presence separately.
How do I handle an unsafe, abusive, or fake account or post?Use the in-app report or block control, or email support with the username and enough context to find it.
Blocking is immediate and does not notify the other person. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first; Corruns cannot dispatch help.
Do this
- Open the post or profile menu.
- Choose Report or Block.
- Save a screenshot if it is safe to do so.
- For urgent account or harassment help, email support@corruns.com.
I only want to compete with friends. Do we need a big team? No. Share an invite or team code; two people can compete, and larger groups can pool totals.
The challenge rules explain whether players compete alone, in teams, or both. Team roles may let captains manage membership, so choose people you trust.
Do this
- Join or create a challenge.
- Open its Team area.
- Share the invite or code privately.
- Check who can manage or remove members.
The app feels too busy. Can I make it simpler?Yes. In Settings, open Which parts of the game you want and turn on Simple Mode.
Simple Mode hides optional game areas while keeping the basic recording path. You can also turn individual features back on later.
Do this
- Open Me > Settings.
- Open Which parts of the game you want.
- Turn on Simple Mode.
- Return Home and use the quick-start activity tiles.
How can I make words easier to read?Increase text size in your phone's accessibility settings; Corruns is designed to follow the device setting.
Larger text can make some pages longer, which is normal. Scroll to see the rest. Simple Mode can reduce how much information appears at once.
Do this
- Open the phone's Display or Accessibility settings.
- Increase text size to a comfortable level.
- Reopen Corruns and check Home, GO, and Settings.
- Turn on Simple Mode if the amount of information still feels heavy.
I do not understand an icon or swipe. What should I do?Do not guess during a run. Pause safely, read the screen-reader label if available, or open this Help page.
A hidden gesture should be a shortcut, not the only way to do something. On a recorder, the current state and visible words matter more than the symbol alone.
Do this
- Stop moving somewhere safe.
- Look for a visible labeled row or button that does the same job.
- Use your phone's screen reader to hear control names if helpful.
- Search Help using the result you want, such as finish or share.
How do I switch between kilometres and miles?Open Settings > Units and choose Kilometres or Miles.
The unit changes how distances and areas are displayed. It does not change the ground you covered or give a scoring advantage.
Do this
- Open Me > Settings.
- Tap Units.
- Choose Kilometres or Miles.
- Return to the activity or challenge.
Can I bring in a workout recorded by Apple Health or Health Connect?Yes, from Settings > Import past runs, when your phone and permissions support it.
Imported workouts go through validation. A workout without a usable GPS trace can add to history or eligible distance rules but cannot create a territory claim.
Do this
- Open Settings > Import past runs.
- Allow the health permission you are comfortable sharing.
- Choose eligible workouts.
- Check the imported result and any challenge rule.
I want to make a simple challenge. What do I need to decide?Choose one clear goal, dates, who can join, allowed activities, and whether people compete alone or in teams.
Start simple. Advanced territory, defence, campaign, media, sponsor, and prize settings add rules your players must understand and you must manage.
Do this
- Open Challenges and choose Create.
- Write the goal in one sentence.
- Choose dates, privacy, and allowed activities.
- Use basic scoring unless you can explain the advanced rule easily.
- Review the invite before sharing it.
What is the organizer portal for?It is the website where an organizer can view and manage challenges with a larger screen.
Use the mobile app to record activities. Use the web portal for organizer work such as checking a challenge, standings, people, and supported management tasks.
Do this
- Open corruns.com/portal.
- Sign in with the organizer account.
- Choose the challenge.
- Review current state before changing rules or people.
A challenge offers a prize. What should I check?Read the official rules, eligibility, dates, winner method, and who is responsible for the prize before joining.
A third-party organizer may be responsible for fulfillment, taxes, and legal compliance. Corruns does not automatically guarantee an organizer's prize.
Do this
- Open the official rules.
- Check country, age, and other eligibility.
- Check how ties, reviews, and disqualifications work.
- Save a copy of the terms if the prize matters to your decision.
What safety rules matter while I play?Traffic, weather, terrain, property rules, and your body always come before the game.
Do not enter restricted or unsafe places to close a loop, reclaim territory, reach a campaign point, or beat a pacer. Corruns is not an emergency service.
Do this
- Plan a route you are allowed to use.
- Keep enough hearing and attention for your surroundings.
- Stop if conditions or your health change.
- Contact local emergency services if someone is in danger.
Can anyone of any age make an account? No. Corruns accounts are for people age 13 or older who can legally agree to the terms.
Corruns is not directed to children under 13. Families should also use age-appropriate supervision, safe routes, and the privacy settings that fit them.
Do this
- Read the current Terms and Privacy Policy.
- Do not create an account for a child under 13.
- Contact support if you believe a child under 13 supplied personal information.
I cannot sign in. What should I try?Check the email and password, your connection, and the account's email address; then contact support without sending your password.
Error messages should tell you whether the details were rejected or the network failed. Support will never need your password.
Do this
- Check for typing mistakes and extra spaces.
- Confirm the phone has a working connection.
- Use the available password-recovery path if needed.
- Email support from the account address when possible.
How do I delete my account and data?Use the account deletion option in the app, or follow corruns.com/delete-account if you cannot sign in.
Deletion is free. Some de-identified gameplay records may be kept when needed to preserve finalized results for other players; the deletion information explains this before completion.
Do this
- Open the account deletion page or in-app account control.
- Read what will be removed and what may be retained.
- Confirm only when you are ready; this is not the same as signing out.
- Keep the written confirmation.
How do I change my name, picture, or location?Open ME. Tap your picture to change it, or use the profile and Settings choices for your name, location, and preferences.
Your profile is your home for the details that make Corruns feel like yours. Change only what you are comfortable sharing, then check your privacy choices if you want to limit what other people can see.
Do this
- Open ME from the bottom navigation.
- Tap your picture to choose a new one.
- Use the profile rows to change your name or location.
- Open Settings for privacy, notifications, and other preferences.
How do I get help from a person?Email support@corruns.com. Never send your password or an exact sensitive route unless support specifically needs limited details.
Include your username, phone model, operating-system version, app version, the screen involved, and what happened. For a run, include its approximate date and time.
Do this
- Write a short description of what you expected and what happened.
- Add the phone and app details.
- Attach a screenshot only after checking it for private information.
- Email support@corruns.com.
Still stuck?
A person can help.
Tell us what you expected, what happened, and your phone model. Never send your password or sensitive route details.
